Chelsea boss Guus Hiddink has confirmed that his club will sign Matt Miazga from New York Red Bulls this month.
The American has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs since the start of the January transfer window, but Chelsea have won the race to sign the 20-year-old.
“He is a promising player. We’re not rushing but he will be one of the squad members for the future. [He is a] young guy, stepping up to the national team.
You can see what players are capable of in training,” Hiddink told reporters when questioned on the centre-back. The defender will not need a work permit to complete a move due to the fact that he holds a Polish passport.
Hiddink has also revealed that his side are close to completing a loan move for Corinthians forward Alexandre Pato.
