The head coach of Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan Fatai Amao is unimpressed by the manner in which his side lost to FC Ifeanyiubah on Wednesday in their week 19 match of the Nigeria Professional Football League.
Sunday Faleye put the visitors in front in the first half before two second half penalties converted by last season top scorer Godwin Obaje ensured FC Ifeanyiubah took the maximum points in front of their fans.
But coach Fatai Amao who spoke to 3SC media team after the match blamed the defeat on the referee suggesting the referee must have been bribed as that is the only logical explanation he has to offer as to why he came out 10minute late after recess.
“We have lost the game and there is nothing we can do about it, but we must strive to develop the game.
“Everything surrounding this game was an eyesore.
“I know we may not survive the game with threats on the referees at halftime; so the two penalties were not surprising.
“I can now know why the referees took another 10 minutes to come out after recess. The first penalty was really not clear to me but I can confirmed the second one was deserved.”
