Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino is a doubt for Sunday’s game because of a muscle problem, but Jurgen Klopp remains optimistic.
Liverpool must win at Anfield against Middlesbrough to ensure a top four finish as any result different from that could spell doom if results in other centers involving teams in the top-four battle do not favour them.
“[It’s] very positive,” said Klopp when asked about Firmino availability for the clash.
“We could not decide until now, but he feels good and he feels comfortable. He did a lot of things, but was not part of team training. That’s not a problem after this long season.
“I think we will make a final test tomorrow. In this moment, I would rather say ‘yes’ than ‘perhaps’, but I am not sure.”
