3SC 1 Rangers 0: Late Bode Daniel’s strike ends Oluyole Warriors winless run

The last time the Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan won a game was on February 5th when they defeated Rivers United 2-1 at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan.

Since then the Oluyole Warriors had played seven games without winning any of them with a record of six draws and just one defeat within that period.

Going into Wednesday rescheduled Matchday 8 tie, Fatai Amao side knew they must win and they fought tooth and nail to secure a 1-0 victory against Rangers on Wednesday.

The game was an end to end action for almost 87 minutes as the Nigeria Professional Football League traditional rival clubs battle for supremacy, but on the 89th minute Godwin Aguda had the chance to put Rangers in front from the spot kick but the attacker missed from the 12 yards.

Shortly after Rangers missed the opportunity to take the lead and probably win the game, Bode Daniel scored a dramatic last minute goal to end Oluyole Warriors winless run.

His 94th minute strike was good enough to earn Shooting Stars of Ibadan the maximum points and move them to 13th position on the log with 16 points from 14 games while Rangers remains on the 19th spot with 12 points from 11 games.
