CHAN 2016: “Eagles are confident of victory” – Ibitoye

The home-based Super Eagles of Nigeria who finished third at the last Championship for African Nations (CHAN) in South Africa have expressed an admirable level of certainty over winning the trophy this year in Rwanda.

This was expressed through the Super Eagles’ Media officer during an exclusive chat with Sportlineng correspondent on phone; saying in confidence that the home-based Super Eagles are in high spirits and are ready to bring the prestigious CHAN trophy to Nigeria for the first time.

The home-based Super Eagles convincingly defeated University of Pretoria FC yesterday, who are currently occupying 15th position on South African Absa Premiership table 3-0 (yesterday).

 

He told www.Sportlineng.com correspondent that the home-based Super Eagles are confident of victory.

“We are doing everything to make Nigerians proud; we had two weeks of physical training at the National Stadium in Abuja. We are now in the second and final stage of our training which is the technical aspect of our game”, Ibitoye stated.

He continued, “…It was a good game against the University of Pretoria FC today, we’ll play against Angola tomorrow Wednesday the 6th, and Cote d’Ivoire on the 11th of January. Then we move to Rwanda for the competition proper, and, we are confident of victory”.

The home-based Super Eagles will play their first group C game against Niger at the Stade Regional Nyamirambo, Kigali on 18th of January.
