Arsenal secure big away win against Olympiacos

Odegaard scores first goal for Gunners

Arsenal faced Greek giants, Olympiacos in the away leg of the Round of 16 of this season’s Europa League looking to avenge their exit at the hand of the same opponents last season. The game ended with a hard-fought 3-1 win for the visitors, Arsenal.

Arsenal took the lead in the first half when on-loan Norwegian midfielder, Martin Odegaard scored a belter from outside the box for his first goal as an Arsenal player. Olympiacos equalised through Youssef El Arabi in the second half after some slack defending by Arsenal. Arsenal went in front again through Brazilian defender Gabriel Magalhaes, before second half substitute Mohammed El Neny sealed the 3-1 win for the Gunners.

Arsenal go into next week’s second leg with a win and 3 away goals in the bag, and have one leg firmly in the quarterfinals already as they look to win their first ever European title.
