Barcelona 2 Recreativo 3: Asisat Oshoala’s brace not enough
Asisat Oshoala scored two goals but they were not enough to save FC Barcelona women team from going down at home to Recreativo Huelva in their league 23 match on Tuesday.
After scoring on her short debut, Asisat Oshoala was giving the nod to start and she fully repaid Lluis Cortés’ trust in her when she opened the scoring in the 16th minute of the game.
Asisat who started on the right flank ran into a rebound and slammed home from a tight angle for the only goal of the first 45 minute.
Recreativo Huelva got the equalizer with what could be tagged a gift. A Barcelona defender gave a pass that was in the box before Raquel smashed home in the 58th minute.
Another defensive error allowed Anita to increase the visitors lead in the 61st minute and more errors would further gave room for Flor to give Recreativo a 3-1 away lead.
But Asisat Oshoala got one back whe she nodded home a corner kick in the 84th minute.
Barcelona had one last chance from a free kick to draw level but wasted the chance.
With her brace in her second game, Asisat Oshoala has now scored 3 goals for Barcelona women.
