Bayelsa Queens beat USFA Ladies to go top, sets up semifinal clash against Espoir FC

Bayelsa Queens have beaten USFA Ladies of Burkina Faso to go top of Group B after accruing 7 points from three games in their WAFU B Champions League Qualifier

The Nigerian women champion trashed the Burkina Faso women champions 3-1 in their last Group B game in Yamoussoukro, Abidjan on Sunday.

Bayelsa Queens took the lead through a superb goal from Falconets striker Flourish Sabasian in the 5th minute of the game.

Burkina Faso pulled back through Lala Traore 10 minutes after Bayelsa United scored their goal.

Etim Edidiong put Bayelsa Queens ahead in the 38th minute of the game.

Aderemi Mary scored Bayelsa Queens’ third goal in the 70th minute of the game.

Bayelsa Queens will now play Benin women’s champions Espoir FC in the semifinal while Ghana’s Ampem Darkoa will play against African Sport in the other semi.

After similar records, Ghana’s Ampem Darkoa Ladies only finished 2nd to Bayelsa Queens in Group B due to an inferior goal difference.

Bayelsa defeated Athleta FC 5-0 in their first game, played a goalless draw against Ampem Darkoa Ladies, and defeated USFA Ladies in their last game (GD of +7).

While Ghana’s Ampem Darkoa defeated USFA Ladies 3-1 in their first game, played a goalless draw against Bayelsa Queens, and defeated Athleta FC 1-0 in there in their last game (GD +3).
