CAF Secretary General, Hicham El Amrani resigns

CAF Secretary General Hicham El Amrani resigned this morning.
In a letter addressed to CAF National Association, Armani thanked CAF, FIFA, the Confederations, the National Associations, Commercial Partners and the entire African Football for the extraordinary opportunity that allowed him contribute to the development of African Football.
He also appreciated the outgone President of CAF, Mr Issa Hayatou for his support and confidence.
“I want to thank very much as well the outgoing President M. Hayatou and his executive committee for the support and confidence given, and I would like to thank infinitely the entire CAF administration. Without my colleagues, no project or work would have seen the day. I am proud of them, they are and will always be my second family.”
He also went further, wishing the newly elected CAF President Ahmad Ahmad the best for the future as well as the new CAF Executiveh Committee Members, with hope that African football will reach new heights.
The Moroccan was appointed as CAF general secretary, 28-September-2011, succeeding Mustapha Fahmy of Egypt.
