Chelsea have first refusal to buy Manchester City, United’s top target

Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp has revealed that Chelsea have a shock clause to buy Manchester United and City top defensive target.

Southampton’s  Virgil van Dijk who has been linked with a move away from the south coast with Chelsea, Manchester United and City all rumoured to be the Holland star next destination.

But an injury has rocked his season – and Sky Sports pundit Redknapp has hinted Chelsea have the option to sign him when he does leave St Mary’s.

When talking about Moussa Dembele’s move to Stamford Bridge he said: “Is it a good time for him to go to Chelsea? Maybe not, because he’s doing so well at Celtic.

“Go and enjoy, win the league there, but maybe what Chelsea should do is get the first refusal, be the team where he goes next.

“I can see that happening because they did it with Van Dijk, but at the moment for his development I think he’s better off staying at Celtic, but in time what a great move that would be.”
