Coach Umar Danlami of Dakkada Fc hails team believe following NPFL survival.

Despite spending a large chunk of the 2021/2022 NPFL season in the relegation zone, Dakkada Fc defeated Sunshine Stars Fc 3-0 to climb out of the relegation zone and retain it’s NPFL Status.

 

Head Coach of Dakkada Fc  Umar Danlami in his post match interview immediately after guiding Dakkada Fc to top flight survival revealed the team was always high In confidence and belief despite spending over 150 days in the relegation zone.

 

The former Delta force manager who is in his second season as manager of Dakkada Fc also spoke of his teams preparation for the upcoming AITEO Cup National finals plus his thoughts for the team for next season.

 

His words ” What you have seen (NPFL Survival ) is a product of sheer hardwork and believe. We knew we are capable . We knew we have what it takes to remain in the NPFL.

 

” We were better in most games this season . We believed in ourselves that we can survive the drop and that sustained us and in the end we did it. ”

 

On the quality of players at the club , Coach Danlami expressed his well wishes for the lads in their career . The Coach stated his desire to work with the lads again citing continuity as key to a better performance next season .

 

Umar said ” I pray for the players to progress. If we can keep them fine. If we can keep this bunch again it is very good and you know continuity is key but the way this boys are going if we lose them we can raise some others .”

 

On the AITEO Cup campaign Coach Danlami confirmed he will keep his boys in shape in view of the AITEO Cup National finals despite the fact that no dates have been released for the commencement of the competition.

 

Dakkada Fc finished the 2021/2022 NPFL season in 14th place with a total of 49 points from 38 matches. Katsina United, Heartland Fc, Kano Pillars and MFM have been relegated to the second division .
