Confirmed: Ramos pens two-year deal with French giants PSG

Former Real Madrid captain joins PSG as third summer signing

Former Real Madrid centre back Sergio Ramos has put pen to paper on a two-year deal to join French giants Paris St Germain, ending speculation on his future after his Real Madrid exit.

The Spanish world cup and European champion ended his association with Real Madrid after a 16-year spell with the club at the expiry of his contract when the 2019/20 season ended. The 34-year-old was captain of the Real Madrid side that won the UEFA Champions League three times in a row, as well as the dominant Spanish sides of 2008-2012. He has won all of the major tournaments he has appeared in for both club and country since his professional debut.

Ramos joins a revolution at the Paris-based side after they completed the signing of Georginio Wijnaldum and Achraf Hakimi earlier in the transfer window. A deal for Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma has also been completed with an announcement planned for after Euro 2020. A contract extension for Neymar has also been agreed, and the club is looking at extending Kylian Mbappe’s contract as they look to take Europe by storm and win an elusive UEFA Champions League title.
