NBA Play-offs: Cavs and Spurs complete series sweeps, Curry hurt again in Warriors win

Eastern Conference top seeds the Cleveland Cavaliers edged the Detroit Pistons 100-98 to sweep their first-round series.

Kyrie Irving came up big with 31 points in game four, while LeBron James had 22 points and 11 rebounds for the Cavs.

The San Antonio Spurs also moved into the second round of the post-season as they beat the Memphis Grizzlies 116-95 to complete a four-game sweep in the west.

Kawhi Leonard led the way for the Spurs, who also swept the Grizzlies in 2004 and 2013, scoring 21 points on six-for-10 shooting and adding seven rebounds and four assists.

Lance Stephenson posted 26 points off the bench for the Grizzlies, who were inferior throughout the best-of-seven matchup.

The Golden State Warriors and their resounding 121-94 play-off win over the Houston Rockets was overshadowed by a knee injury to reigning NBA MVP Stephen Curry.

As the Warriors earned a 3-1 lead against the Rockets in the Western Conference first-round series, the defending champions saw Curry suffer a sprained knee on Sunday.

After missing two games with an ankle injury, Curry slipped and fell to the floor at the end of the first half and was unable to return.

The Warriors, though, carried on his absence, inspired by a 41-point third quarter in game four in Houston.

Klay Thompson was the leading man with 23 points, and Andre Iguodala contributed 22 points of his own on the road.

Double-doubles from Dwight Howard (19 points, 15 rebounds) and James Harden (18 points, 10 assists) were not enough to lift the Rockets.

The Boston Celtics squared their series with the Atlanta Hawks courtesy of a 104-95 overtime win.

Isaiah Thomas, who finished with 28 points, scored the final five points of OT to help the Celtics level the Eastern Conference matchup at 2-2.
