Ebere Orji proud of her Swedish Damallsvenskan Player of the month award

Super Falcons striker Ebere Orji is proud of her achievement as the winner of the Swedish Damallsvenskan Player of the month award of July.

Ebere Orji who has scored five goals and created one assist, was voted on by a jury consisting of the series ‘team captains as well as representatives from the media and the competition partners.

The Linköping FC’s forward expressed delight at the feat stating it was a privilege for him to score goals but he is more focused on achieving the team’s goal,

‘It came as a shock to me.

‘I am happy to win the prize and I am very happy for my own and for the team’s sake, says Ebere who says that both her own and the team’s start to the season has been good.

‘For me, it is a privilege to score goals.

‘It’s good for me and it’s good for LFC.

‘I hope to do what I can to help the team end up at the top of the table.’

For emerging the best play in the month of July, she was also rewarded with a 10,000 Swedish Krona [worth N527,000].

The 27-year-old efforts helped Linkoepings to the third position on the Swedish Damallsvenskan table with 16 points from 8 matches.
