Enyimba, Rivers United win as FC Ifeanyi Ubah stuns Kwara United in NPFL Matchday 26

Sunshine Stars win first game in 19 attempts, Lobi Stars defeat Rangers

Enyimba bounced back from their defeat at the weekend with a 2-1 win over Adamawa United at the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba. Victor Mbaoma opened the scoring for the home side with his fourth goal of the season before Felix Kenan equalised for the visitors against the run of play. Midfielder Farouk Mohammed scored the winner from the penalty spot in the second half to give Enyimba all three points and keep them in the hunt for the title.

Rivers United handed a damaging 2-0 defeat to the league’s leaders, Kano Pillars, at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt. Sunday Adetunji opened the scoring for the home side before Paul Acquah added a second for them to deal their win.

FC Ifeanyi Ubah made good use of their home advantage as they defeated title hopeful Kwara United 2-1 at the Ifeanyi Ubah Stadium in Nnewi. Ekene Awazie opened the scoring for the Anambra Warriors before Stephen Jude equalised for Kwara United. Awazie scored a late winner to secure all three points for his side.

Sunshine Stars picked up a first win in 19 league games thanks to a 1-0 win over Dakkada FC at the Ondo State Sports Complex, completing the double over Dakkada, having already beaten them once this season. Ejike Uzoechi scored the only goal for the Akure Gunners in the game.

Lobi Stars stunned Rangers International 1-0 at the Aper Aku Stadium in Makurdi. Lobi striker Ossy Martins scored his 8th NPFL goal this season to give his side all three points from the game.

Plateau United defeated Katsina United 2-0 at the New Jos Stadium. Muhammed Zulkifilu opened the scoring, scoring his 10th league goal of the season before Ibrahim Buhari added a second for the home side.

Nasarawa United defeated Warri Wolves 3-1 at the Lafia Township Stadium. Silas Nwankwo scored a quick fire brace to put his side two goals up and take his personal goals tally to 10 before Emeka Onyema added a third. Sunday Williams scored an exquisite acrobatic effort for Warri Wolves as a consolation.

Jigawa Golden Stars and Wikki Tourists played out a 1-1 draw at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna. Saidu Abdullahi gave the home side the lead before Manu Garba equalised for Wikki Tourists, who remain unbeaten in their last three matches.
