Falcons bounce back, trash Romania to claim Bronze in China
Nigeria’s women national football team, trashed Romania 4-1 in China to claim the Bronze medal at the maiden Wuhua Four Nation Tournament.
Following their 3-0 loss to China in teir first game, Super Falcons bounced back in a convincing manner on Sunday to redeem their image.
The African champions who are without few of their key players, notably, Asisat Oshoala, ran roit against their European opponents at Wuhua on Sunday.
Falcons took the lead through, Chiwendu Ihezuo in the 44th minute but pegged back in the 55th minute.
The lead was restored in the 63rd minite through Ebi Onome, Rita Chikwelu increased the tally in the 68th minite before returning Umotong completed the rout in the 83rd minute.
The victory ensured the african champions who will continue their preparation for the 2019 world cup in France didn’t leave China empty handed after claiming the Bronze medal.
