Fans react as Bonucci joins the stop racism campaign

Football fans are having a go at Juventus and Italy defender Leonardo Bonucci after he joined the stop racism campaign.

The 33-year-old defender has been told to stop being an hypocrite after he joined the stop racism movement that has taken over every platform after George Floyd’s death.

Footballers, football clubs, Basketball players have all learned their voices through their platforms concerning the black life matters and ‘no to racism’.

The former Inter Milan defender was told to stop embarrassing himself by fans who are still angry at the Italian over an incident that involved him; one of his black teammates, Moise Kean, and Cagliari fans last season.

Moise Kean who was a subject of racist attack from the start of the game until the end, moved towards Cagliari fans to celebrate his goal in the second half of a game between Juventus and Cagliari but was jeered at.

Leonardo Bonucci then incurred the fans outrage when he accused his then teenager teammate, Moise Kean, of causing the racist behaviour he was subjected to in a game.

“Kean knows that, when you score, it’s enough to celebrate with the squad. He could have behaved differently,” Leonardo Bonucci told Sky Sport Italia.

“There was racist booing; Matuidi got angry. It’s a 50-50 – Moise was wrong, and the stand was wrong. We have to be an example.”

So, it natural for fans who knew what happened last season to react the way they are. They have reminded him of his comments about his former black teammate.

He has been labelled hypocrites, and all sort of names all to remind him of his role last season.
