FC Thum 4 FC Zurich 2: Odey’s goal not enough

Former MFM FC striker Stephen Odey came off the bench to score, but was unable to stop his side FC Zurich from losing 4-2 at home to FC Thum in a league match played on Sunday.

The away side began the encounter in blistering fashion as two quick-fire goals from Dejan Sorgic (8) and Moreno Costanzo (11) gave Thum a two-goal cushion with scores remaining the same until halftime.

Seven minutes into the second half, the away side struck again, this time via the boot of Marvin Spielmann to put the game beyond the reach of the home team.

Down but not out, Zurich made two quick substitutes, bringing on Odey and Marchesano in the 62nd minute to try and salvage something from the match.

The home side pulled a goal back three minutes later through Adrian Winter before former MFM striker Stephen Odey scored FC Zurich’s second goal on the 69th minute after being set up by a fellow substitute, Antonio Marchesino.

However, any hope of a possible comeback was dashed when Moreno Constanzo sealed all three points for the away side when he scored six minutes from time to earn Thum a comfortable 4-2 victory.

The result leaves FC Zurich third on the table with 28 points from 20 games.
