1. Jason Day won Arnold Palmer Invitational title
Jason Day went wire-to-wire as he claimed the Arnold Palmer Invitational by one stroke, though the world number three was forced to dig deep on Sunday.
Day had been in control throughout the tournament but he required a final-hole par putt for a two-under-par 70 to make sure of his first PGA Tour title of the season and eighth overall, ahead of Kevin Chappell.
2. Vika beat Serena to clinch 1st title in 3 years
Victoria Azarenka secured a straight-sets victory over world number one Serena Williams to claim the BNP Paribas Open title 6-4 6-4.
The Belarusian claimed her first title since the 2013 Australian Open at the Brisbane International in January, and added a second in 2016 with a dominant display, consigning a frustrated Williams – beaten by Angelique Kerber in Melbourne in January – to consecutive final losses for the first time since 2004.
3. Nico Rosberg claimed season-opening win in Australia, Alonso escaped unhurt after car crashÂ
Nico Rosberg took the chequered flag during what was an incident-packed first race of the new Formula 1 season in Australia.
However, while it was the German that was celebrating taking maximum points, the race was best remembered for a big crash involving McLaren‘s Fernando Alonso.
It happened on lap 17 when Alonso attempted to pass Esteban Gutierrez on the run down to turn three.
Alonso’s front right wheel clipped the rear of Gutierrez’s Haas car, sending the former spiraling towards the barriers before eventually coming to a halt upside down.
The Spaniard limped away from the wreckage, but was later declared to have been unhurt.
4. England won 1st Grand Slam in 13 years
England have completed their first Six Nations Grand Slam since 2003 after beating France 31-21 in Paris on Saturday night.
Scotland’s victory over France last weekend handed Eddie Jones‘s side their first Six Nations crown since 2011, but England overcame a spirited French side by 10 points to win their first Grand Slam for 13 years.
5.  Spurs beat Warriors to stay perfect at home
The San Antonio Spurs improved to 35-0 at home this season after upstaging defending NBA champions the Golden State Warriors 87-79.
Golden State (62-7) headed to San Antonio on Saturday 10 victories shy of matching the Chicago Bulls’ 72-win record, after eclipsing the Dallas Mavericks 24 hours earlier.
However, ‘Splash Brothers’ Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson struggled as the Spurs preserved their 100 per cent record at AT&T Center, snapping the Warriors’ seven-game winning streak in the process.
