Four European giants want one out of four Nigerian players playing for Trencin

At most four Nigerian players start a game for Slovakian outfit AS Trencin week in week out.

While Philip Azango, Reuben Yem, and Abdul Zubairu have been regulars, Emeka Umeh has had his chances too. In fact, all four players started in Trencin’s 3-2 away win against Zilina in the Slovakia Fortuna League game over the weekend.

The contributions of the quartet have not gone unnoticed as midfielder Abdul Zubairu who is popularly known as ‘Nigerian Kante’ is been courted by big European clubs.

Ajax who appeared to be in forefront of the park face competition from OGC Nice, Olympique Marseille and Borussia Monchengladbach who are also interested in signing the 19-year-old midfielder according to reports.

Abdul Zubairu who is a product of GBS Academy who groomed the likes of Ahmed Musa, Samuel Kalu, and Moses Simon joined Trencin in January 2017.

Zubairu played a total of 19 games in all competitions despite joining the Slovakian outfit in the middle of the season.

Trencin are currently studying offers received for the services of the midfielder and according to a source, his agent Tony Harris claims a transfer is imminent.
