Gattuso talks on Osimhen’s first goal and his impact on Napoli

Napoli manager Gennaro Gattuso has had his say on Victor Osimhen who scored his first ever goal for The Blues in their 4-1 win against Atalanta on Saturday.

The Super Eagles striker scored a super goal for his first goal in the Italian Serie A and Napoli’s fourth on the day.

Napoli were just too good for the free scoring Atalanta who could only find the back of the net on one occasion in the one sided game at Sao Paolo.

And Gennaro Gattuso was full of praise for his team and particularly Victor Osimhen whom he said gives Napoli different options going forward.

“It was a fully deserved win, the coach began. “We prepared for the game really well. That was exactly the sort of performance I was looking for. I didn’t expect a result like that because Atalanta are a great team but we were superb today.

“I’m happy that Chucky [Lozano] scored two and I’m especially pleased for Osimhen because he hadn’t scored yet and he deserved a goal for all the hard work he’s been putting in for the team. He offers us all sorts of options going forward.

“Victor was a player I wanted and I’m grateful to the president for bringing him in. It wasn’t easy but we’ve got ourselves a fabulous player.”
