Gbenga Ogunbote: Enyimba a work in progress

Enyimba head coach Gbenga Ogunbote has said his side is a work in progress because there are lot of mistakes he must correct to make the 2014-2015 NPFL champions a championship side again.

After his club played goalless draw against Rivers United in their last pre-season friendly game at the UJ Esuene Stadium in Calabar on Tuesday, Ogunbote expressed his dissatisfaction at what he saw from his boys.

“I am still not completely satisfied (with the state of my team) but it is still a team in the making.

“We should have scored some goals in the game and we need to work on correcting those mistakes.

“Even if we had won (against Rivers United), we still would have had a few things that we need to perfect,” he said to the Rivers FC media crew.

The 2014-2015 NPFL champions will be banking on Ufom Udoh to lead the team to a better outing this time around having ended last season outside the continental slot position.

Enyimba will play their first match of the 2016-17 against Sunshine Stars of Akure at the UJ Esuene Stadium in Calabar on Sunday.
