Guardiola says this must happen for Iheanacho to start a Manchester City game

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has given the condition required for Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho to get back into the starting line up again.

The 20-year-old who set a record as the most clinical striker in Premier league history on boxing day with a record of a goal in every 95.6 minutes; is yet to play for the Cityzens since appearing as a substitute in a 4-0 loss to Everton on January 15 and the manage explained he couldn’t help his lack of playing times as there are other players ahead of him.

Pep Guardiola however suggested that the Kelechi Iheanacho remains in his plan but he would have to wait for his time, because someone will be injured and one striker can’t play in all the games.

“Kelechi now isn’t playing for the last games. It’s a pity for him because he’s another guy, all the African guys I train in my life always they are amazing how they are like professionals in the training sessions, ” Guardiola was quoted by ESPN at a Tuesday press conference.

“But I like normally one striker, not two. Of course, when Sergio [Aguero] was injured, players play the game.

“But then Gabriel came and Sergio didn’t play, so the space is what it is. But it is going to happen this situation with Gabriel so Sergio can’t play all the games and, of course, he [Iheanacho] is going to help us.”

Kelechi Iheanacho could be on the line to start for Manchester City today when they play against Huddersfield in their FA Cup Fifth round replay by 8:45 PM at the City of Manchester Stadium.
