Ilechukwu: Top four is possible for MFM FC
MFM coach, Fidelis Illechukwu says his team are capable of making the top, if they could put up a steallar performance against the best team in the league, Akwa Utd.
Speaking to the media after his team narrow win over Akwa Utd in a rescheduled matchday 8 NPFL fixture played at the Agege Stadium, Lagos on Friday.
“We played the best team in Nigeria, who also have one of the best coaches. If MFM can beat the best team and the best coach, that means we can make the top four”.
“I can tell you that the quality of Maikaba is like the quality of Mourinho (josè) and other top coaches. If MFM can beat Akwa, then we can beat any team”.
Sikiru Olatunbosun’s strike on 36 minute, separated both sides, in a game hugely dominated by the promise keepers, who despite the defeat kept their place on top of the log.
MFM move to eight on the log with the win, while Akwa United will hope to put behind the defeat and shift attention to the CAF Confederations Cup date with Hawks FC of Banjul on Wednesday.
