Juventus sack Sarri, reportedly open talks with Pochettino

Juventus have sacked their manager Maurizio Sarri barely a day after the Italian side got knocked out of the Champions League by Lyon.

The reigning Italian champions have suffered a tough season under the Italian manager who joined from Chelsea.

Juventus retained their Serie A title this year but they did under a lot pressure and in fact, won the league with just one point.

The club in statement confirmed his departure and thanked him for his efforts.

“Juventus Football Club announces that Maurizio Sarri has been relieved of his post as coach of the First Team.

“The club would like to thank the coach for having written a new page in Juventus’ history with the victory of the ninth-consecutive championship, the culmination of a personal journey that led him to climb all the divisions of Italian footballT.”

The Italian club are reportedly looking in the direction of former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino for the vacant position according to various sources from Italy.
