Kwara United thrash Dakkada, go top of NPFL

Heartbreak for MFM in Kaduna after late drama

Kwara United faced Dakkada FC at the Kwara State Sports complex and ran out comprehensive 3-0 winners in the game. The Afonja Warriors took the lead through Wasiu Alalade in the first half, before further goals from Michael Ohanu and Alao Danbani secured all three points for them as they move into top spot on goal difference. They have also set a new club record unbeaten run as they have not lost in 8 games this season.

Kano Pillars got a 1-0 victory over managerless MFM FC at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna thanks to a late goal in the 94th minute from Umar Hassan.

Katsina United defeated Jigawa Golden Stars 1-0 at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium. Samuel Kali’s first half strike was enough to decide the game for Katsina United and give coach Baldwin Bazuaye his second win in three games since his appointment.

Wikki Tourists held Sunshine Stars to a goalless draw at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium in Bauchi. Wikki barely allowed dangerman, Sadeeq Yusuf to get a sniff of goal as they kept a second consecutive clean sheet.

Last placed Adamawa United played out a 1-1 draw against fellow relegation candidates, FC Ifeanyi Ubah at the Pantami Stadium. Idris Abubakar gave Adamawa United the lead in the first half, before a 79th minute penalty was converted by Christian Molokwu to earn the Anambra Warriors a point.

Nasarawa United got their first win in four matches as they defeated Akwa United 2-1 thanks to a 90th minute winner. Nasarawa United took the lead early in the second half through Adamu Hassan before Akwa United captain, Ndifreke Effiong scored his 7th league goal of the season to draw his side level. The game looked destined to end 1-1 when Ebuka Anaekwe scored a 90th minute goal for Nasarawa United to help them gain all three points at the death.
