Liverpool to sign Thiago Alcantara from Bayern in a deal worth £26m
Liverpool have finally found the breakthrough in their bid to sign Thiago Alcantara from Bayern Munich after agreeing to a deal.
Thiago Alcantara is one of Liverpool’s top targets this season having previously missed out on Timo Werner and Kai Havertz.
According to various reports, the Spanish International who told Bayern Munich he wanted out would be joining Liverpool in a deal worth £26m.
Daily Mirror’s David Maddock who broke the deal said the deal would be wrapped up today as Thiago Alcantara would undergo his medicals today.
He said the former Barcelona star would sign a four-year contract and Liverpool would pay £20m upfront and £5-6m on add-ons.
Thiago Alcantara would wear the Jersey number 6 recently vacated by Dejan Lovren.
Maddock also revealed that only £5m of the agreed fee would be paid this year while the rest spread across the three years.
Thiago Alcantara would also get more weekly wages than he currently earns at Bayern Munich. He added that he could play his first Liverpool game next Thursday against Lincoln in the EFL Cup.
