Martins on target in Shanghai Shenhua 2-2 draw against Sydney FC in AFC Champions League

Obafemi Martins was on target as his Chinese based club Shanghai Shenhua played a 2-2 draw against Sydney FC in the second game of their AFC Champions League group H tie played at Hongkou Stadium on Wednesday.

The former Inter striker who played a key role in helping his side secure a continental place after scoring on both legs to help his side claim the Chinese Super Cup last season.

Obafemi Martins put his side in front in the 26th minute of the encounter but they were pegged back two minute after his goal through Luke Wilkshire. Alex Brosque in the 34th minute of the clash put the Australian champions ahead.

But another former Inter player, Freddy Guarin restored parity for Shanghai Shenua on the 39th minute to make it 2-2 at half time.

Both sides did everything to get the winning goal but in the end it ended 2-2. Obafemi Martins who played as a lone striker in his sides 4-2-3-1 formation was on the pitch for the entire duration of the game.

In their first-two group H games, Shanghai Shenhua have played a 1-1 away draw against Japanese giants, Kashima Antlers and a 2-2 draw against Australian champions Sydney FC
