NSF: Tosin scores the winner as Oyo beat Delta on shootout to top group B

Tosin Fowobaje scored the deciding penalty during shootout after the game has ended 1-1 during the normal regulation time to help Oyo State edge Delta State 3-2 on Monday.

After both sides had secured a comfortbale 4-0 wins in their first game against FCT, a winner must emerge in their tie to determine who tops the group.

After a pulsating 30 minutes of action that produced no goals, Delta had the chance to go up via a penalty stroke but Bernard Wilson had his attempt well saved by Gbenga.

The stroke was awarded after Tosin Fowobaje was adjudged to have stopped a goal bound ball with his leg after the goalkeeper had been well beaten.

Shortly after the miss, Sunday Emmanuel who scored two goals in Oyo State 4-0 routine win against FCT on Sunday increased his tally to three. He practically made and scored the goal in the 48th minute of the game.

Two minutes after they went behind, Delta State through their captain, Kitchme Dimlong equalized with their 4th penalty corner of the game.

He fired home a well-worked out penalty corner for his second goal of the tournament in the 50th minute.

Both teams fought and gave everything to get the winning goal but it ended 1-1 and since a winner must emerge we headed for penalty shootout.

Delta scored just one of their penalties while Oyo scored two including the deciding penalty which Tosin Fowobaje scored to win the game for the pace setters.
