Philippe Coutinho wants Barcelona move as talks open to sign Liverpool star

Philippe Coutinho is keen to join Barcelona after the Spanish champions opened discussions over a summer deal for the Liverpool midfielder, according to reports.

Sport claim that ‘Operation Coutinho’ is currently in progress and Barcelona have held several talks with the Brazilian’s agent Giuliano Bertolucci about the possibility of a move.

The report suggests that the 24-year-old is ready to leave Anfield at the end of the season and although he has received an offer from Paris Saint-Germain, the midfielder is ‘enthusiastic’ about a potential switch to Camp Nou.

But Sport also claim that for Coutinho to make the move to Barcelona, the club must sell at least one midfielder.

Earlier this week, Neymar admitted he was keen to see Neymar join him at Camp Nou.

‘A Premier League player that I would like to have in Barcelona is Coutinho,’ he told the Daily Mail.

‘I believe he is a player that would totally fit in Barcelona.’
