Rondo hopes Mavericks miss play-offs

Sacramento Kings guard Rajon Rondo took extra pleasure in handing his former team, the Dallas Mavericks, a 133-111 loss in the NBA on Sunday.

He had a message for his former team after the game.

“Yeah, I want them to get their plane ticket as soon as we get ours,” said Rondo, via ESPN. “So anytime we can help, that’s what I try to get these guys [team-mates] to focus on.”

Rondo, who had 11 points and 11 assists in the win, clashed with Mavs coach Rick Carlisle during his time in Dallas.

He also knows the Kings are not going to make the play-offs, so he would like Dallas to join them.

“If we’re not going to make the play-offs, then let’s help some of these guys go home with us,” Rondo said.

The Mavericks (35-38) might grant him his wish.

After Sunday’s loss, they have now dropped 10 of 12 games and are ninth in the Western Conference, trailing the Houston Rockets by half a game for the final play-off spot.
