Spurs extend home record, Cavs beat Lakers despite Kobe’s 26 points

The San Antonio Spurs extended their home record this season to 31-0 thanks to a 109-101 win over the Chicago Bulls on Thursday.

Kawhi Leonard led the way for the Spurs with 29 points as they continued their NBA-best home record.

LaMarcus Aldridge contributed with a double-double of 26 points and 10 rebounds, while Tony Parker (20 points, 12 assists) also scored a double-double.

Bulls’ Pau Gasol (21 points, 12 rebounds) finished with a double-double while he was helped by contributions from Derrick Rose (21 points) and E’Twaun Moore (20).

Kobe Bryant’s last game against the Cleveland Cavaliers ended in defeat as the visitors ran out 120-108 winners over the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Lakers veteran finished with a team-high 26 points but the Cavs’ Kyrie Irving (26) matched him, along with efforts from LeBron James (24) and Channing Frye (21).

Cavs centre Tristan Thompson (10 points, 14 rebounds) contributed with back-to-back doubles-doubles.

The Toronto Raptors kept up their impressive form with a 104-96 victory over the Atlanta Hawks.

DeMar DeRozan (30) put in a fine performance for the Raptors while both Luis Scola (10 points, 12 rebounds) and Jonas Valanciunas (10 points, 10 rebounds) had double-doubles.

Al Horford (20) top-scored for the Hawks.

Meanwhile, the Denver Nuggets won their third successive game with a 116-98 win over the lowly Phoenix Suns.
