Super Eagles path to Qatar World Cup set

World Cup qualifiers set to hold between May and November 2021

Nigeria’s Super Eagles have seen their path to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar clarified by FIFA following the release of their fixture schedules for the games.

Nigeria are in the same group with Liberia, Cape Verde and the Central African Republic for the qualifying series. The Super Eagles are billed to have two group matches every international break over the next three international breaks. In the international break between May 31st and June 5th, Nigeria will host Liberia and travel to the Central African Republic. Between August 30th and September 7th, the Super Eagles will face Cape Verde twice, and between the 4th and 12th of October, they visit Liberia and welcome Central African Republic.

Following the conclusion of the group phase, the winners of each of the ten groups will be drawn against each other between 8th and 16th of November and this would determine the five African nations that would be at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
