Tobi Amusan breaks Commonwealth Games record to claim Gold at Birmingham 2022

Tobi Amusan has won the 2022 Commonwealth Games gold medal in the 100m hurdles in a record time.

The reigning World champions and the defending Commonwealth Games gold medalist lived up to the expectations.

Tobi Amusan started the race gradually and picked up in the course of the race to retain her Commonwealth Games gold.

Amusan blazing through

This time she didn’t just win, but she did it by smashing the old Commonwealth Games record and setting another one with a time of 12.30s.

The silver goes to Devynne Charlton of the Bahamas, who finishes in 12.58 – just ahead of England’s Sember who clocks 12.59.

The 25-year-old athlete is now a two-time Commonwealth Games gold medalist.

Tobi Amusan also holds the African, World, and Commonwealth Games records.

Her gold medal takes Nigeria’s medal hauls to 31.
