We were unlucky – Rangers Christian Madu laments painful exit
Rangers International midfielder Christian Madu has leaped to coach Imama Amapakabo defence following his side’s elimination from the 2017 CAF Champions League by Zamalek.
The box to box midfielder expressed his disappointment at the outcome of the result but squashed talks of dressing room unrest and lack of technicalities of coach Imama, saying the team were just unlucky.
“The reports of dressing room unrest and lack of monetary incentives are false.
“We are disappointed not to make to the group stages of CAF Champions League because our fans deserve the best of African Football. We did all we could we were simply unlucky on the night.
“Coach Imama Amapakabo has no fault in what happened, no one should question is abilities because we are here because of him, luck was just against us.
“We tried all our best it wasn’t just our night.”
Christain Madu then urged the fans to keep believing in the team because they need their support now more than ever before saying he is confident their season will end well.
“Never say never, the CAF Confederations cup is not out of our reach we can win it.
“We just want the fans to stay positive and keep believing in us, the season isn’t over yet we still have everything to fight for but we need their support.”
