Speaking to the press, Elishama Elam, Chairman of the Nigeria Volleyball Coaches Association (NVCA), thanked the Comptroller General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi (MFR), for his strong support of volleyball.
“The prize money for this year’s league is truly impressive and will motivate the teams,” Elam said. “This shows the Customs’ dedication to developing volleyball in Nigeria, and we hope it encourages players to give their best during the competition.”
As the teams get ready to compete, Martin Melandi, Technical Director of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation, spoke to players and coaches during the technical meeting.
He urged them to maintain the highest standards of sportsmanship.
“We expect professionalism and fair play from all players,” Melandi said. “The competition will follow the current FIVB (Fédération Internationale de Volleyball) rules, until the new regulations are introduced next year.”
