15-Year-Old Ebenezer Harcourt Set for First Super Eagles Call-Up

Nigeria’s Super Eagles will face Rwanda and South Africa next month in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, and one young player is set to make history.

The Nigeria Football Federation will today, Friday, release the provisional squad for the crucial September fixtures, and reports suggest 15-year-old Ebenezer Harcourt will be included.

Harcourt, who caught attention with his brilliant performance for the Super Eagles B in their final CHAN match against Congo a few days ago, is now tipped for his first senior call-up. The teenager, who only recently made his debut at that level, is regarded as one of the country’s brightest prospects.

Head coach Eric Chelle, under pressure after a poor outing with the CHAN Eagles, is expected to mix youth and experience as he looks to secure wins in both games and restore faith among Nigerian fans.

Alongside Harcourt, Sevilla striker Akor Adams is also likely to be named after providing an assist in the Spanish club’s La Liga opener. Benjamin Frederick, Chidozie Awaziem, and Terem Moffi are also expected to be part of the list.

Regular stars such as captain William Troost-Ekong, Victor Osimhen, Samuel Chukwueze, Wilfred Ndidi, Stanley Nwabali, and Ola Aina are all set to return.

The NFF’s last provisional list contained 39 players, and this squad is expected to be around the same number.
