Kenneth Omeruo has been voted as the man of the match in Nigeria’s 1-0 defeat of Guinea at the Africa Cup of Nations in Alexandria, Egypt.

The Leganes defender who was one of the six players to have kept their place from Saturday’s 1-0 win over Burundi delivered a class display as he marshalled his defence alongside Leon Balogun while keeping Naby Keita at bay.

An AFCON winner, Omeruo would go on to score the winner and the goal that sent Nigeria through to the last 16 after he met a Moses Simon corner with a towering header in the 73rd minute.
