Colombia stunned Germany with a late winner in the opening game of the 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica .
The German ladies began the game as favourites but fell to a shock 0-1 loss to Colombia following a 87th minute strike by Munoz.M .
New Zealand and Mexico played a 1-1 draw in the second game of the opening day . Grace Wiznewski put New Zealand in front in the 30th minute before Anette Vasquez equalized for Mexico in the 45th minute .
Spain vs Brazil finished 0-0 before Hosts Costa Rica bowed to the superior Australian ladies 1-3 .
On Thursday August 11, Ghana will take on the United States by 6pm (Nigerian time) . Japan vs Netherlands will follow by 9pm before the Falconets of Nigeria will face France by 12 midnight .
The final game of day two will pitch Canada Vs South Korea by 3am .
Japan are current Champions of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup .
