2022 NBA Playoffs: Warriors, Timberwolves, Jazz, 76ers all win
The 2022 NBA Playoffs have tipped off with eight teams in action in the first round of this season’s postseason.
Steph Curry made his return following a spell out on the treatment table as the Golden State Warriors stormed to a 123-107 win over the Denver Nuggets in their first game of the 2022 NBA Playoffs. Jordan Poole made his Playoff debut for the Warriors and contributed 30 points. Curry scored 16 points off the bench as Nikola Jokic scored 25 points for the Nuggets.
Anthony Edwards took over on his Playoff debut for the Minnesota Timberwolves in their 130-117 win over the Memphis Grizzlies in the 2022 NBA Playoffs first round. The 2020 number one draft pick scored 36 points for the Timberwolves, and Karl-Anthony Towns added another 29 points. Ja Morant scored 32 points for the Grizzlies in the game.
The Philadelphia 76ers picked up an impressive 131-111 win over the Toronto Raptors in Game 1 of their 2022 NBA Playoffs first round. 21-year-old Tyrese Maxey was the star of the show as he scored 38 points for the Sixers. James Harden contributed 22 points and 14 assists, and Joel Embiid scored 19 points and 15 rebounds.
Utah Jazz picked up a 99-93 win over the Dallas Mavericks in Game 1 of the first round of the Playoffs. Donovan Mitchell led the scoring for the Jazz with 32 points, and Bojan Bogdanovic contributed 26 points in the game. In the absence of Luka Doncic, Jalen Brunson scored 24 points for the Mavericks.
