Ons Jabeur booked her place in the final of the 2023 Wimbledon Championship after a brilliant comeback win against second seed Aryna Sabalenka. The sixth seed reached the final of the competition for a second successive year with a 6-7 6-4 6-3 win over world number two Sabalenka. She will have a chance to redeem herself after her loss in the final last year.
In the other semifinal, unseeded Czech star Marketa Vondrousova defeated Elina Svitolina 6-3 6-3 in straight sets to reach the final of the 2023 Wimbledon Championship, becoming the first ever unseeded woman to reach the final of the tournament. Ranked 42nd in the world, she is also the second lowest-ranked player to reach the final since rankings were introduced. The 24-year-old will face Jabeur, who she has defeated twice this year, in Saturday’s final.
