World number one Carlos Alcaraz became the second Spaniard after Rafael Nadal to reach the quarterfinals at Wimbledon before turning 21 as he defeated Matteo Berrettini in four sets at the 2023 Wimbledon Championship. In the women’s draw, sixth seed Ons Jabeur made light work of ninth seed Petra Kvitova, dispatching the Czech star in straight sets 6-0 6-3 to reach the last eight.
Second seed Aryna Sabalenka faced 21st seed Ekaterina Alexandrova and claimed a win in straight sets to reach the quarterfinals of the 2023 Wimbledon Championship. Sabalenka defeated her opponent 6-4 6-0 in the clash.
Third seed Elena Rybakina qualified for the last eight after her opponent Beatriz Haddad Maia was forced off injured in their fourth round clash. Rybakina held a 4-1 lead in the first set before her opponent’s retirement.
16-year-old star Mirra Andreeva was sent crashing out by 25th seed Madison Keys in their fourth round meeting, with the American battling to a win in three sets. Andreeva won the first set before Keys recovered to win 3-6 7-6 6-2 and reach the last eight.
