23-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic defeated 21-year-old eighth seed Jannik Sinner in straight sets to reach the final of the 2023 Wimbledon Championship. The world number two secured his place in his 35th major final, the most of any male player in history, with a 6-3 6-4 7-6 win over his Italian opponent in the semifinal.
In the second semifinal, world number one Carlos Alcaraz became only the second Spaniard, after Rafael Nadal, to reach the final at Wimbledon. The 20-year-old star defeated World number three Daniil Medvedev in straight sets to qualify for his second Grand Slam final. The reigning US Open champion claimed a 6-3 6-3 6-3 win over his Russian opponent to qualify for the final of the event, where he will face Djokovic for a second time this year. The Serb won their first meeting, in the semifinals of the French Open, en route to winning his 23rd Grand Slam crown. The pair will clash in the final on Sunday with everything on the line.
