Swiatek, Blinkova crash out as Svitolina, Azarenka progress
World number two Carlos Alcaraz defeated Shang Juncheng in the third round of the 2024 Australian Open. The Spaniard claimed a 6-1 6-1 1-0 win over his Chinese opponent, who retired through injury in the third set.
World number three Daniil Medvedev made light work of 27th seed Felix Auger-Aliassime, claiming a straight sets win over the Canadian star. Medvedev won the clash 6-3 6-4 6-3 to progress to the fourth round in Melbourne.
Sixth seed Alexander Zverev overcame Alex Michelsen in straight sets to reach the fourth round of the tournament. The German star claimed a 6-2 7-6 6-2 win over his unseeded opponent to progress from the third round.
British star Cameron Norrie defeated 11th seed Casper Ruud to reach the fourth round of the 2024 Australian Open. The 19th seed won the match in four sets 6-4 6-7 6-4 6-3 in Melbourne.
Ninth seed Hubert Hurkacz came from a set down to defeat French star Ugo Humbert and reach the fourth round of the tournament in Melbourne. Hurkacz won the meeting 3-6 6-1 7-6 6-3 to progress from the third round meeting.
Unseeded Czech star Linda Noskova secured a huge upset as she defeated world number one Iga Swiatek in three sets to reach the fourth round of the 2024 Australian Open. The 19-year-old Noskova came from a set down to claim a 3-6 6-3 6-4 win and progress to the fourth round.
Elina Svitolina booked her passage into the fourth round of the 2024 Australian Open with a straight sets win over Viktorija Golubic. The Ukrainian 19th seed claimed a 6-2 6-3 win over her opponent.
Immediately after playing historic tennis, Anna Blinkova has been sent packing from the tournament in Melbourne. She lost to Italian star Jasmine Paolini in straight sets 7-6 6-4 to crash out as Paolini progressed.
Victoria Azarenka defeated Jelena Ostapenko in straight sets 6-1 7-5 to reach the fourth round of the 2024 Australian Open.
12th seed Zheng Qinwen defeated her compatriot Wang Yafan in three sets to reach the fourth round in Melbourne. Zheng won the match 6-4 2-6 7-6 to progress beyond the third round.
