World number one Novak Djokovic continued his march towards a 25th Grand Slam title by defeating Taylor Fritz in the quarterfinals of the 2024 Australian Open. The Serb won the meeting in four sets 7-6 4-6 6-2 6-3 to send the American crashing out of the tournament.
Fourth seed Jannik Sinner continued his impeccable form in Melbourne as he booked his place in the semifinals of the tournament after a win over Andrey Rublev. The young Italian claimed a straight sets win over the fifth seed, securing a 6-4 7-6 6-3 win.
Sixth seed Alexander Zverev was at his best as he defeated two-time Grand Slam champion Carlos Alcaraz in four sets to reach the semifinals of the 2024 Australian Open. The German claimed a 6-1 6-3 6-7 6-4 win over his 20-year-old opponent.
World number three Daniil Medvedev needed five sets to defeat ninth seed Hubert Hurkacz and reach the semifinals of the tournament. The Russian star claimed a 7-6 2-6 6-3 5-7 6-4 win over his Polish opponent.
In the women’s draw, Aryna Sabalenka claimed a straight sets win over ninth seed Barbora Krejcikova. The world number two won their meeting 6-2 6-3 to progress to the semifinals.
Coco Gauff defeated Marta Kostyuk in three sets to reach the last four in Melbourne. The fourth seed claimed a 7-6 6-7 6-2 win over her Ukrainian opponent.
Zheng Qinwen defeated Anna Kalinskaya in three sets to reach the semifinals in Melbourne. The Chinese star came from a set down to win 6-7 6-3 6-1 and reach the last four.
Dayana Yastremska defeated Linda Noskova in straight sets to reach her first Grand Slam semifinal. The Ukrainian star won the meeting 6-3 6-4 to advance into the last four.
