2025 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations Kicks Off Today in Egypt
The 2025 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations will kick off today (Sunday) in Egypt, with 13 teams competing for the top prize.
Nigeria’s Flying Eagles, the most successful team in the tournament’s history, will be aiming to win a record-extending eighth title.
Aliyu Zubairu’s team are placed in Group B alongside Tunisia, Morocco, and Kenya.
The Flying Eagles will begin their campaign next Thursday when they face Tunisia at the June 30 Stadium in Cairo.
Hosts Egypt will play against South Africa’s Amajita in the opening match tonight at the Cairo International Stadium.
In another Group A match, Zambia will take on debutants Sierra Leone in Ismailia, also today.
The four teams that reach the semi-finals will qualify for the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile later this year.
