Iheanacho labels Guardiola the special one ahead of Manchester derby
Ahead of the Manchester City derby, Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho has labelled Pep Guardiola the “special one” saying he was sent to help him and City.
The youngster who recently attributed his thunderous left footer finish for Nigeria against Tanzania to the advice received by Pep Guardiola said the former Barcelona and Bayern boss will bring many silverwares to Manchester City.
“He’s the special one sent to Manchester City and, obviously, the special one for me.”
“He’s a winner and I believe he will bring success to the club. His arrival has changed the mentality of everyone because you are starting from scratch.
Kelechi Iheanacho, 19, also told The Sun he is confident he can fill the void left by suspended Aguero as the Manchester clubs go head-to-head in Saturday lunchtime’s crunch Premier League clash at Old Trafford if picked by Pep Guardiola.
“Sergio’s suspension is a big loss but we have a lot of big players to turn to,” he said.
“If I get picked I’m going to do my job. Games like this mean a lot and it doesn’t come bigger than a derby.”
