243 Days: Super Eagles Striker Terem Moffi Grateful After Return from Injury
Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi has thanked God after making his return for Nice following 243 days out with injury.
Moffi played his first competitive match since July 2024 on Saturday, coming on as a substitute in Nice’s 2-1 defeat to Monaco at the Stade Louis II.
The Nigerian forward suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury during pre-season last year and had to undergo surgery, which kept him out of action until last weekend.
Moffi was brought on in the 82nd minute as Nice pushed for an equaliser, but he could not prevent his team from losing.
After the match, the 24-year-old took to social media to express his gratitude.
“I can only say thank you, Lord Jesus, for everything. See you guys next week,” Moffi wrote.
Moffi’s Next Steps
Moffi and Nice will now prepare for their next match against Nantes at the Allianz Riviera. He will be hoping to build on his return and possibly get on the scoresheet.
However, despite making his comeback, Moffi may still have to wait before he starts matches regularly. Nice are likely to manage his playing time carefully to avoid another injury setback.
With the team performing well this season, Moffi might have to wait until next season before becoming a regular starter again.
