Pavel Nedved “confident” ahead of Bayern Munich clash
Juventus vice-president Pavel Nedved has insisted that his side can give a good account of themselves against Bayern Munich in the last 16 of the Champions League.
Last season’s runners-up will meet the German giants, who are one of the favourites to win the tournament this time around, in Turin in February before returning to Munich for the second leg.
It is one of the standout ties of the first knockout phase, but Nedved is “confident” that his side can progress to the quarter-finals. “We hoped for better luck in today’s draw, but we’re confident we can put in two good performances,” he told the club’s official website.
“We were in a tough group and managed to reach the last 16 without too many difficulties. I believe our team has improved in Europe and I am confident, even though we know Bayern represent very tough opposition. “Nobody is unbeatable, you never know in football.
We need to tackle these two games with humility and desire.” Juve and Bayern have won the Champions League seven times between them.
