Eden Hazard returns to Chelsea training
Guus Hiddink has revealed that Eden Hazard took part in Chelsea’s training session on Wednesday, fuelling suggestions that the attacker will be fit to return for the Boxing Day clash against Watford.
Hazard, 24, suffered a hip problem in Chelsea’s 2-1 defeat at Leicester City earlier this month and missed the team’s 3-1 win over Sunderland at the weekend.
Hiddink, speaking to the media for the first time since being appointed interim boss of Chelsea, confirmed that the Belgian is now back in training and also backed the attacker to regain his form from last season. “He had a terrific season last year.
I think he can be a key player, as captain of the national team in Belgium, but also here. He was unlucky to be injured recently, but today he practised. Tomorrow we (will) see again. We look to get back the form,” Hiddink told reporters.
Hazard, who netted 19 times last term, has still not scored a single league goal for Chelsea this season and is believed to have fallen out with Jose Mourinho in the latter stages of the Portuguese’s tenure at Stamford Bridge.
